Human Clock chapter 03 - by Tokunan Seiichirō
Another chapter of the spastic, weird, non sequitur manga, Human Clock. This chapter took a little bit longer than the rest, but only because I was being lazy. This chapter finally starts getting into some meta-physical weirdness, and this new “tutor” plays a big role in the next chapter.
On a translator’s note, this manga is so difficult to follow along with. From one frame to the next Seichirō will completely change the chain of events. I can never, ever guess what a character will say next. This kind of unpredictability doesn’t work well with Japanese. Usually the whole form of the language is influenced by the context and preceding sentences. This is one of the main ways that Seichirō displays his disdain for the reader and the publishers. It seems like he doesn’t care about the manga making sense, he’s just trying to get it done and get his money for the week.
